So what is that you really like?
When I first told my mom that I don’t plan to work for a company and I would rather start a business of my own (big or small) just after college, she sounded not very happy. That’s one reason why I worked for the first 17 months in Wipro after I left my college.
But why would I rather start a business? Is there any businessman in the family? NO. Have I got the capital? NO. Have I got a mentor? NO. Will I be very good in my business? I don’t know!
But it just felt right. When I thought of what I really want, that’s the only answer I could guess. Wright or wrong, time can only tell. Just like the way I use to do it in the viva-voice of my Electronics paper. Of course, I wish the result be different this time.
Except for a very very few things, I never regretted in life. I grew up that way. Not too much to expect and not too many choices to choose from. But life is once, just once and choices that come to us in this lifetime are the last ones. We don’t often get a second chance. We need to make the right choice to live the life we want, not the life others say we should.
Money, Stability, Respect… we all want it. In fact, we are “conditioned” to want it. It’s like in our blood now and we can hardly shed the hunger. That’s why we should stop bothering about it and concentrate on what we really want.
Ask the little kids what they want in life and you will smile when you hear these funny things. That’s what they want, what they really want from heart (of course for that age, don’t argue you rascal!). Remember, we were once like them, free from all these thoughts and calculations, free from all these responsibilities and routines that we almost forgot what we really want in life.
My take. Forget this boring article, take a deep breath and think what you really want in the next 20 years. Once you find it, you will figure a way out.
